Strawberry Sundae soy bakery Candle in Sherbet Glass

Strawberry Shortcake Soy Candle in a Sherbert GobletWe hand pour each of our soy candles, so no two candles are identical. We use red juicy strawberry tarts on top off fluffy white whipped cream that sits on a third layer of solid red soy wax.

This candle comes in the following fragrances:
Warm Vanilla Sugar
Buttery Vanilla
Love Spell
Cucumber Melon
Blueberry Cheesecake

This candle is about 4 inches tall.

Since this candle is made in layers you should use a dish under this candle to catch any dripping wax.

We find our sherbet goblets at local antique shops, so the number of candles we can make will be limited.

We ship our candles by USPS, UPS and FedEx, depending on the best price for you. We also combine shipping for multiple items purchased in our store, to help you save money!

Homemade Candles being tested to perfection

soy candle tinsWe have been testing our soy and paraffin candles to find the perfect formulas.

21oz Jar Candles

We have tested our 21 oz jar candle with 13 different wicks and still have not found the perfect one.
For the soy candles we have tried ECO 8, ECO 10, ECO 12, ECO 14, #14, 3W, 4W, L, XL, and CSN 14. For the paraffin candles we have tried 51-32-18Z, ECO 8, and LX 18.

We will try a CSN 12 with our soy candle and see how that works. And we will try a single wood wick with our paraffin candle and see if that option works.

8oz Tin Candle

We have tested our 8oz tin can candle with 12 wicks and we may have 2 that work. For the soy candles we have tried CSN 16, CSN 14, CSN 12, ECO 8, ECO 10, ECO 12, and ECO 14. For our paraffin candles we have tried LX 18, LX 20, HTP 52, HTP 83, ECO 8, and 51-32-18Z.

So far the best wick for our soy candles is the CSN 12 and CSN 14. The best wick so far for our paraffin candle is HTP 52, however the melt diameter is very lacking.

Creating Soy Candles and Tart Melts

candle making shop round house candlesDuring the creating process of making soy candles and tart melts we look at our supplies. The tools of the trade. I love using fry daddy’s as the base tool. This will be my double boiler system. The fry daddy holds the water, and then I use a convenient pouring pot to hold the wax.

You need to make sure to know what the heat limitations are for your wax, fragrances and color dyes. Each fragrance has a different spark point as does each type of wax. Paraffin wax generally has a higher melting point than soy wax.

Remember to use a thermometer to guage your wax temperature during the melting process and also while you add the color dye and fragrance.

Business Spotlight CC Consulting Services

CC Consulting Services with Cindy ClarkIntroducing Cindy Clark with CC Consulting Services.

1. What do you love most about your business?
What I love most about my business are my clients! I love working with people that have a mission and desire to succeed. I love working with people that are dedicated to their cause and want to do whatever it is to make their goal. My clients have their heart and soul in their business and that makes me want to help them as much as I possibly can.
2. Who do you work with?
I work with nonprofits and on occasion, will work with small business owners.
3. What is the most time consuming thing you do within your business?
The most time consuming thing I do is research. When I’m working with a client, I research everything I can about their business so I can educate myself on how I can best serve them.
4. Who has had a big impact on your personally or professionally?
Personally, my husband is my biggest cheerleader. His support means the world to me!  Professionally, I have many friends and colleagues that support me. Since I’ve been in business for just over 12 years, I’ve met several wonderful, positive people who have (and continue to) support me. I wouldn’t be where I am without all of them.  One of my favorite sayings is: Everyone enters your life for a reason; we just need to have our eyes and heart open to see the lesson we can learn from them.
5. What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own business?
My advice would be (and has been): Keep your mind open to learning. Learn everything you can about what it is you want to do. Having a heart-centered business, you will go far.  Keep your mind focused on your mission and vision: Why did you start this business? Who do you want to serve? What do you want to provide for others?  Surround yourself with positive, supportive people. Never get negative; have faith and believe in yourself, no matter what.
